Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Small bowl
  • Pastry Brush
  • Pizza cutter or knife

Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 1 sheet refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Topping

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted (60g), can use salted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Glaze

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar (100g), confectioners' sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Step 1: Get Ready: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the baking sheet and gently press the seams together to form one solid sheet.
  • Step 2: Butter Up: Melt the butter and brush it evenly over the entire surface of the dough.
  • Step 3: Sprinkle the Magic: In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly all over the buttered dough.
  • Step 4: Bake to Golden: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly puffed. Check around 12 minutes as ovens vary.
  • Step 5: Whip Up the Glaze: While the pizza is baking or just out of the oven, whisk together the powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk/cream, and vanilla extract in another small bowl until smooth. Add more milk/cream a little at a time if needed to reach desired consistency.
  • Step 6: Drizzle and Serve: As soon as the cinnamon sugar pizza comes out of the oven, drizzle the glaze all over the top while it's still warm. Let it sit for a couple of minutes to set slightly. Slice into squares or wedges and serve warm.

Notes

For variations, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the cinnamon-sugar, sprinkle with mini chocolate chips or nuts before baking, or try a different glaze extract like almond or maple. You can use melted coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option. Ensure you seal the crescent roll seams well and don't overbake the dough to keep it tender. Parchment paper makes cleanup easy. Add milk for the glaze slowly to get the right consistency. This dessert is best served warm. Store completely cooled leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days or in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat briefly in the microwave.
