Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped medium
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz, undrained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or more to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
  • Add onion and garlic to the beef and cook until softened and fragrant.
  • Stir in cabbage, diced tomatoes, beef broth, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Mix well and simmer 5 minutes.
  • Transfer mixture to baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and return to oven for 10–15 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  • Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add bell peppers or carrots for extra vegetables. Ground turkey or sausage may be substituted for beef. Pepper jack cheese adds a spicy twist.
