For the Pink Dream Pop Shots (per 4 servings)
- 4 oz strawberry vodka
- 2 oz raspberry liqueur e.g., Chambord
- 2 oz cream or half-and-half
- 1 oz grenadine for layering, approximately 1/4 oz per shot
Optional Garnishes
- whipped cream for topping
- pink sugar for rimming glasses
- candy sprinkles for topping
Step 1: Combine & Chill. Fill a cocktail shaker about halfway with ice. Add 4 oz strawberry vodka, 2 oz raspberry liqueur, and 2 oz cream or half-and-half. Close the shaker tightly.
Step 2: Shake it Up. Vigorously shake for 10-15 seconds until the shaker is frosty and the mixture is well-chilled and blended.
Step 3: Serve. Strain the chilled mixture evenly into 4 shot glasses.
Step 4: Layer the Dream. Gently pour about 1/4 oz of grenadine down the side of each glass. It will sink to the bottom, creating a lovely ombré effect and adding sweetness.
Step 5: Garnish (Optional). For a dazzling presentation, first dip the rim of each shot glass in water or simple syrup, then into pink sugar. Top each shot with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of colorful candy sprinkles. Serve immediately.
Substitutions & Additions: For vodka, use vanilla, cake, or regular vodka with strawberry syrup. Peach schnapps or cherry liqueur can replace raspberry liqueur. For dairy-free, use coconut cream or plant-based half-and-half. Muddle fresh raspberries/strawberries for an extra fruity kick. Top with a splash of sparkling water or champagne, or drizzle white chocolate sauce inside the glass for an indulgent treat.
Tips for Success: Ensure the shot is super cold by shaking vigorously. Pour grenadine slowly down the inside wall of the glass for the best layered effect. To prep ahead, mix the strawberry vodka, raspberry liqueur, and cream (without ice) a few hours in advance and keep chilled in the fridge. Shake with ice just before serving. Use a jigger for consistent pours.
Storage: These shots are best enjoyed fresh. If you've pre-mixed the base (vodka, liqueur, cream), store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Give it a good shake with ice before serving. Do not store full garnished shots.
