Ingredients
  

For the One-Pot Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

  • 12 oz spaghetti regular or whole wheat
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for sautéing onion and garlic
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • grated Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Step 2: Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic for 3–4 minutes until the onion is translucent and soft.
  • Step 3: Add ground beef, break it apart, and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Step 4: Stir in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and tomato paste.
  • Step 5: Add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Step 6: Bring mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Step 7: Add spaghetti to the pot, making sure it is submerged. Break in half if necessary.
  • Step 8: Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until pasta is al dente.
  • Step 9: Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for a few minutes.
  • Step 10: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

Leftovers keep well refrigerated for 3–4 days and freeze up to 3 months. Reheat gently with a splash of broth or water. Customize with different meats or add veggies like mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
