  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted (microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (the key to a perfectly sweet and not-too-grainy base)
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (you can pulse graham crackers in a food processor for this)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for that extra touch of warmth)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (balances the sweetness)
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate – your preference!)
  • 0.5 cup M&M's candies (plain or peanut – go wild!)
  • 0.5 cup Reese's Pieces candies (because why not?!)

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, melted butter, powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until everything is well combined and you have a smooth, slightly sticky dough. Don't be afraid to get your hands in there!
  • Line an 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides to make lifting the finished bars easier. This is a pro tip I learned the hard way!
  • Press the peanut butter mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared dish. Use the back of a spoon or your hands to create a smooth, flat top.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and melted. Be careful not to burn them!
  • Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the peanut butter layer. Sprinkle with the M&M's and Reese's Pieces, pressing them gently into the chocolate. Feel free to add more candies if you're feeling generous (I always do!).
  • Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate is set and the bars are firm. Patience is key here, my friend!
  • Once set, let the bars sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before lifting them out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Slice and serve!
