Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb sirloin steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch optional
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • green onions chopped, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
  • Place the bite-sized steak pieces in your slow cooker.
  • Pour the honey garlic mixture over the steak, making sure each piece is coated. Give it a gentle stir to ensure everything is nicely combined.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the steak is incredibly tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, whisk the cornstarch with a tablespoon or two of cold water to form a slurry. Stir this into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They're just as delicious reheated! Feel free to experiment! Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat; incorporate a tablespoon of rice vinegar for a tangy twist; sauté some sliced mushrooms and add them to the slow cooker with the steak; add some chopped bell peppers or onions for extra flavor and nutrition. Don't overcrowd the slow cooker. Give the steak pieces some space to cook evenly. For even more tender steak, you can marinate it in the honey garlic mixture for 30 minutes to an hour before slow cooking. If your slow cooker runs hot, you may need to reduce the cooking time. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
