Total Time 30 minutes

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Candy thermometer
  • Wooden skewers
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling pin or food processor (optional)
  • Zip-top Bag (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb seedless grapes green, red, or a mix
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • Assorted crushed Jolly Rancher candies

Instructions

  • Wash and dry your grapes thoroughly.
  • Thread 3-4 grapes onto each wooden skewer. Arrange them neatly on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, reaching 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  • Carefully remove the saucepan from the heat. Dip each grape skewer into the hot syrup, rotating gently to coat evenly.
  • Immediately roll the syrup-coated grapes in the crushed Jolly Ranchers, ensuring they're fully covered.
  • Place the candy grapes back on the parchment paper and let them cool and harden completely (about 10-15 minutes).
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to experiment! You can substitute other hard candies for the Jolly Ranchers, or even try adding sprinkles or edible glitter for extra flair. If you don't have wooden skewers, toothpicks work in a pinch. Don't rush the cooling process. Allow the candy grapes to fully harden for the best results. Work quickly when dipping and coating the grapes, as the syrup cools rapidly. For an extra-special touch, consider using different colored grapes and Jolly Rancher flavors to create a rainbow of candy grapes. Prepare these ahead of time! Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
