Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Hand Mixer (or Spoon)
  • Oven-safe Baking Dish

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 8 oz crab meat drained, fresh or canned lump crab meat preferred
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp green onions optional, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and milk. Mix until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or spoon.
  • Step 3: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until fully combined.
  • Step 4: Gently fold in the drained crab meat, being careful to keep lumps intact.
  • Step 5: Transfer the mixture to a small to medium oven-safe baking dish (about 8x8 inches).
  • Step 6: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  • Step 7: Bake for 20–25 minutes until heated through and cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
  • Step 8: Let the dip cool for a few minutes before serving to set slightly for easier scooping.
  • Step 9: Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or favorite dippers.

Notes

Make ahead by mixing ingredients (except cheddar cheese) the day before; refrigerate and add cheese before baking. For a lighter dip, substitute milk with half-and-half or cream, or sour cream with Greek yogurt. Use canned crab if fresh is unavailable; be sure to drain well to avoid watery dip.
