Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Chilled Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk (or beaters)
  • Spatula
  • Freezer-safe container

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cotton Candy approximately 30g once dissolved; pick your favorite color/flavor
  • 1 cup Vodka 80 proof; vanilla or cake-flavored optional
  • 0.5 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 0.5 cup Heavy Whipping Cream make sure it's nice and cold
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 0.25 cup Powdered Sugar approximately 30g; adjust to taste
  • Edible Glitter or Sprinkles optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, pour in vodka and sweetened condensed milk. Stir gently until smooth and combined.
  • Step 2: In a separate, well-chilled bowl, pour in heavy cream. Whip until soft peaks form, keeping it fluffy but not stiff.
  • Step 3: Gently fold the vodka mixture into the whipped cream using a spatula, incorporating carefully to maintain airiness.
  • Step 4: Break cotton candy into smaller pieces and gradually fold it into the creamy mixture. It will dissolve, infusing flavor and color.
  • Step 5: Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness by gradually adding powdered sugar until it's just right for your palate.
  • Step 6: Transfer the mixture to a shallow, freezer-safe container. Smooth the top and cover tightly with plastic wrap to prevent ice crystals.
  • Step 7: Freeze for a minimum of 4 hours, or preferably overnight, for the best, firm consistency.
  • Step 8: Before serving, let the container sit at room temperature for 3-5 minutes to make scooping easier. Serve generous scoops in bowls or martini glasses, garnished with edible glitter or sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Substitutions & Additions: Experiment with vanilla, cake-flavored, or raspberry vodka. Try blue raspberry, grape, or mixed cotton candy flavors. For texture, fold in mini chocolate chips, white chocolate shavings, or crushed graham crackers. A swirl of fruit purée (strawberry, raspberry) can add a tart contrast.
Make it Kid-Friendly (Non-Alcoholic): Omit the vodka and increase heavy whipping cream to 1 cup (240ml), or add a splash of cotton candy or raspberry flavored syrup.
Tips for Success: Chill your mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before whipping cream. Don't overmix the cream; stop at soft peaks. Fold ingredients gently with a spatula to preserve airiness. Always taste and adjust sweetness with powdered sugar before freezing. For the firmest clouds, freeze overnight; if too hard, let sit at room temperature for a few extra minutes before scooping.
Storage: Store in a freezer-safe, airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to prevent freezer burn and ice crystals. Keeps well in the freezer for up to 2-3 weeks. Thaw slightly at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before serving for the best creamy texture.
