  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread These breads add a beautiful richness. You can also use Texas toast for a similar effect!
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 0.25 cup strawberry jam
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted

Instructions
 

  • Combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl until completely smooth and creamy.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto four slices of your bread.
  • Top with sliced strawberries and a spoonful of strawberry jam.
  • Cover with the remaining bread slices to create four delicious sandwiches.
  • In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
  • Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are fully coated.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Carefully place the sandwiches in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess butter.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Notes

These are best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a toaster or skillet.
