Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Medium saucepan
  • Small bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Whisk

Ingredients

For the Rolls

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon roll dough 16.3 oz each
  • 2 cups fresh peaches diced, peeled if preferred
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • Step 2: Pop open the cans of cinnamon roll dough and unroll them onto a lightly floured surface. Press the seams between the two pieces together to form one larger rectangle.
  • Step 3: In a medium saucepan, melt the tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the diced peaches, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Stir and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the peaches soften and the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool slightly (5-10 minutes).
  • Step 4: Spoon the slightly cooled peach mixture evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough rectangle, spreading it right up to the edges.
  • Step 5: Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  • Step 6: Use a sharp knife to cut the log into 12-16 equal slices.
  • Step 7: Arrange the rolls cut-side up in your prepared baking dish. They can be touching.
  • Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges and cooked through in the center. Don't over-bake.
  • Step 9: While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth and pourable. Add more milk by the teaspoon if needed for drizzling consistency.
  • Step 10: Once the rolls are done, remove from the oven. Let them cool in the dish for just a few minutes. Generously drizzle the glaze all over the warm rolls.
  • Step 11: Serve warm.

Notes

Substitute peaches with drained canned or frozen peaches, or other fruits like apples, berries, or pears. Add a pinch of nutmeg, cardamom, or ginger to the peach mixture for extra warmth. Use the cream cheese frosting that comes with the cinnamon rolls, or a homemade glaze. Sprinkle chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) over the peach filling before rolling. Don't over-cook the peaches in the pan. Cool the filling slightly before adding to the dough. Use a sharp or serrated knife for clean cuts. To prep ahead, make the peach filling a day early or assemble the rolls and refrigerate overnight (add baking time if baking from cold). Store leftovers at room temperature for 1-2 days or in the fridge for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container. Reheat in the microwave for 15-30 seconds. Freeze baked (unglazed) or unbaked rolls.
