Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough about 8 biscuits
  • 0.25 cup butter melted
  • 2 tbsp finely minced garlic
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up into small crumbles. Drain off excess fat.
  • Step 3: Season the cooked beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine. Turn off the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined with the meat.
  • Step 4: Open the biscuit dough tube. For each biscuit, roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cheesy beef mixture into the center of each flattened biscuit.
  • Step 5: Gather the edges of the dough up and over the filling, pinching all seams together tightly at the top to create a ball. Place each sealed bomb seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Step 6: In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the finely minced garlic. Brush the tops and sides of each cheeseburger bomb generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  • Step 7: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of each brushed bomb.
  • Step 8: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Substitutions/Additions: Swap ground beef with turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat. Use mozzarella, pepper jack, or Colby Jack cheese. Add finely minced onion or bell pepper to the beef. Include red pepper flakes or crumbled bacon bits in the filling. Other doughs like pizza or crescent roll dough might work with adjustments. Serve with ketchup, mustard, pickles, special sauce, or ranch.
Tips: Do not overfill (approx. 2 tbsp per biscuit). Drain beef well. Pinch seams tightly to prevent bursting. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. The garlic butter and Parmesan topping are key for flavor and texture. You can cook and season the beef mixture ahead (store in fridge 1-2 days) and assemble/bake just before serving.
Storage/Reheating: Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes, or microwave for 1-2 minutes (oven is best for texture).
Air Fryer Instructions: Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place bombs in a single layer, do not overcrowd. Air fry for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and cooked through.
