  • Large mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix The base of our cake, bringing a classic flavor.
  • 3 large eggs Adding richness and structure to the cake.
  • 1 cup water Helping to create a moist texture.
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil For added moisture and softness in every bite.
  • 1 cup caramel sauce The star of our show, providing that sweet, gooey goodness.
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk Making the cake ultra creamy and indulgent.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Adding a lovely crunch and nutty flavor.
  • 1 cup whipped topping For a light and fluffy finish.
  • 1/2 cup crushed butter pecan candy optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package instructions. Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish to keep the cake from sticking.
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
  • Step 3: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake according to package instructions, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Step 4: Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
  • Step 5: Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of the warm cake.
  • Step 6: In a separate bowl, mix together the caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk. Pour this mixture over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
  • Step 7: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top of the cake.
  • Step 8: Allow the cake to cool completely, then spread the whipped topping over the top.
  • Step 9: For an optional garnish, sprinkle crushed butter pecan candy on top.
  • Step 10: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
