Equipment

  • Muddler
  • Medium bowl
  • Large Pitcher
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Serving Glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves packed
  • 1 cup fresh berries your favorites: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a mix
  • 1 cup vodka your preferred brand
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup equal parts sugar and water, heated until dissolved and cooled
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice use fresh limes
  • 1/2 cup club soda cold
  • ice cubes for shaking and serving
  • mint sprigs and extra berries for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prep Your Freshness: Give your mint leaves and berries a good wash under cool water. Gently pat them dry with a clean towel.
  • Step 2: Muddle Power: Grab a medium bowl. Toss in the washed mint leaves and berries. Now, take a muddler (or even the back of a wooden spoon) and gently press and twist. Mash the berries enough to release their juices and bruise the mint leaves to get those fragrant oils going. Don't pulverize it.
  • Step 3: Combine the Base: Scoop that lovely muddled mixture into a large pitcher. Add the vodka, simple syrup, and fresh lime juice. Give it a good stir to combine everything.
  • Step 4: Shake It Up: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Pour in a good amount of your berry and vodka mixture. Pop the lid on tight! Now, shake like you mean it for about 15-20 seconds to get nice and frosty cold.
  • Step 5: Strain and Pour: Fill your serving glasses with fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture into each glass, filling them up about two-thirds of the way.
  • Step 6: Top with Bubbles: Gently pour club soda into each glass, filling them the rest of the way. Give each drink a quick, gentle stir.
  • Step 7: Garnish Time: Pop a fresh mint sprig and a few extra berries into each glass. It looks beautiful and adds more aroma.
  • Step 8: Serve Immediately: Hand them out and watch smiles appear! These are best enjoyed right away.

Notes

Tips for Success: Don't over-muddle mint; just bruise leaves. Use fresh mint and lime juice. Shake until cold for dilution and chilling. Add club soda last to keep bubbles. Prep ahead: Muddle and mix non-carbonated ingredients; store in fridge; add ice and soda just before serving.
Storage: Best enjoyed fresh. Vodka and berry mixture (without ice/soda) can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Stir before serving.
