Creamy Chicken Alfredo Tater Tot Casserole

A ridiculously easy recipe for a cheesy, creamy casserole that's guaranteed to become a family favorite. Ready in under an hour with minimal prep work.
Cook Time 35 minutes

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish A little cooking spray does the trick.
  • Large bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced Rotisserie chicken is my secret weapon for extra ease!
  • 1 (16 oz) bag frozen tater tots The crispier, the better!
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh or frozen work perfectly.
  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce Jarred is fine, but homemade adds a special touch!
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese The meltier, the better!
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a salty, savory kick
  • Salt and pepper to taste (Don't be shy!)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder optional, but highly recommended!
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional, for extra herby goodness

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, broccoli florets, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder (if using), and Italian seasoning (if using). Give it a good stir until everything is nicely coated.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Pour the chicken and broccoli mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Top with a layer of frozen tater tots, arranging them as best you can.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy, and the casserole is bubbly and heated through. Keep an eye on it toward the end, ovens can vary.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. This helps it set up a bit and makes it easier to scoop.

Notes

Feel free to get creative! Swap the broccoli for other veggies. Add some cooked bacon or sausage. Try using a different cheese blend. Don't overcrowd the casserole dish. For extra crispy tater tots, you can pre-bake them for 10 minutes before adding them to the casserole. This casserole can be made ahead of time and baked later. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
