  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken rotisserie chicken recommended
  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough quartered, flaky kind preferred
  • 1 (1 oz) packet dry French onion soup mix
  • 0.5 cup sour cream full-fat for extra creaminess
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Melt the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 4-5 minutes, until it's softened and translucent.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the French onion soup mix, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well combined.
  • In the prepared baking dish, layer the quartered biscuit pieces, then the shredded chicken, sautéed onions, and the sauce mixture.
  • Top with the mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to get creative! You can use different cheeses, like Monterey Jack or Gruyere. Add some cooked bacon or crispy fried onions for extra texture and flavor. If you don’t have sour cream, plain Greek yogurt is a great substitute. Don't overcook the onions. Make it ahead! For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven.
