Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag thick pretzel sticks 12 ounces
  • 0.5 cup butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 2: Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Let it cool slightly.
  • Step 3: Whisk the egg white and vanilla extract into the slightly cooled butter until smoothly combined.
  • Step 4: In a separate medium-sized bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir well.
  • Step 5: Place pretzel sticks in a large (1-gallon) zip-top bag. Pour the butter-egg mixture over them. Seal the bag, remove excess air, and gently shake until all pretzels are coated.
  • Step 6: Add the cinnamon sugar mixture to the bag with the coated pretzels. Re-seal, remove excess air, and gently shake until all pretzels are evenly coated with cinnamon sugar.
  • Step 7: Spread the coated pretzels in a single, even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Step 8: Bake for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through (around 7-8 minutes) to ensure even baking and prevent sticking.
  • Step 9: Immediately stir the pretzels after removing from the oven. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet to achieve crispiness.

Notes

For best results, ensure your melted butter is slightly cooled before adding the egg white to prevent cooking. Thoroughly stir the pretzels both halfway through baking and immediately after taking them out of the oven to prevent sticking. Allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet to ensure maximum crispiness. Store completely cooled pretzel sticks in an airtight container at room temperature for 5-7 days. Feel free to experiment with different pretzel shapes like twists or rods, and adjust spices by adding pumpkin pie spice or a pinch of cayenne for a sweet heat.
